Client Information
Our client, a leading company in Big Data, AI, and Consulting Services, is looking for a highly skilled Senior Java Engineer.
This project involves building a new product from scratch, requiring a robust backend engineering foundation. The client's team is primarily based in the US (Central Standard Time) and will work closely with LATAM-based engineers to ensure seamless collaboration.

The position offers an initial six-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension to a full-year commitment, based on project success and alignment with team goals.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will:

● Analyze and translate business requirements into technical solutions
● Develop and maintain scalable backend systems
● Collaborate with US-based engineers to integrate project milestones and ensure continuity across the development process
● Self-manage daily responsibilities and tasks, maintaining high levels of productivity and professionalism
● Engage actively in agile development processes to ensure timely delivery of features and updates

Essential Experience and Skills
To excel in this role, you will need:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
Professional Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with Java

Technical Expertise:
● Proficiency in Java and backend development frameworks
● Strong experience with PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora, or similar relational databases
● Exposure to cloud platforms and tools, preferably AWS
● Knowledge of data integration, ETL processes, and handling data from multiple sources
● Familiarity with issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA) and version control (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket)

Analytical Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities and a solid understanding of algorithms and complexity analysis

Preferred Skills
Experience in any of the following areas will be beneficial:

● AWS services and tools
● Proficiency with Python
● Wildfly Application Server
● Knowledge of build tools like Ant
